The Blue Pavillon
The Blue Music Pavillon was a gift from the town of Alta to mark the 200th anniversary of the town of Hammerfest in 1989, and was designed by the artist couple Knut and Eva Arnesen. Its architecture is inspired by the prewar architecture in the city centre, and thus provides a good indication of how the city looked before the war. The small dome illustrates the Russian influence on the appearance of Hammerfest, which came about as a result of the Pomor trade.
